Dace Dura-Swing 12V Operator for Swing Gates to *4.5m wide
A fast, durable, accurate, tried and proven operator for light commercial single or double swing gates with opening time of 12-14s, no hard stops required, only 2-core cable across the driveway for double gates, needs at least 800mm space behind an open gate (90o) and maximum opening angle of 120o. Power Options
The Dura-Swing Operator plugs into a normal 240V power point at one side of the gate only or your electrician can hard wire it to mains power. A 2-core low voltage cable is all that is needed across the driveway, unless using photocells then an extra 4-core wire is needed. If getting 240V mains power to your gate is difficult the built in transformer maybe remoted and plugged in at the house (or where ever a power point is available) and a low voltage power cable run out to the gate. You can install low voltage cable yourself, you don't need to be a registered electrician.

Choice of Wall/Post or Pedestal Mount if you're not sure how solid the wall is, keep the operator away from the wall/post altogether by using a free standing pedestal concreted into the ground.

Condominium Mode - prevents remote controls from closing the gate, which is for when there are many users because if more than one user is trying to open the gate at the same time one could open and the other start closing it without realising it so if it can open only then there is no confusion. Safety Photocell (Photo Electric Beam) facility to prevent the gate closing or opening on a vehicle. Has the option to allow the photocell to control the closing of the gate once a vehicle has passed through.

Three modes of operation including:
- Standard - while gate is opening, pressing the remote control will stop it part way, pressing again will close it.
- Condominium - remote control or other access control device opens gate only with auto-close delay or photocell control
- Condominium with Photocell closing control - gate will close as soon as a vehicle has past using the safety photocell to also control the closing of the gate. Reduces the chance an unauthorised vehicle will sneak in behind another improving security.
Adjustable Leaf Delay - for double gates a delay between the opening and closing of each leaf (side) is necessary for safety and when an overlapping stop is used between the gates and if the driveway is at an angle it is useful to be able to adjust the delay longer to make sure the correct gate closes first and opens last. The delay can be set from zero to half the opening distance.
Adjustable Pre-flash Delay - allowing a warning light to flash before the gate starts moving as a safety feature when there are a lot of pedestrians near the gate.
Pedestrian opening facility opens one side part way to let people on foot in not any vehicles and closes automatically after a delay. The amount it opens, a pre-flash delay and auto-close delay are all adjustable.
Electric Lock Output - for activating a relay board for electric strike or magnetic lock.
Courtesy light - for activating a relay board for courtesy light that comes on when ever the gate is opened.

Maintenance Requirements
Articulated arm gate operators need little maintenance although it is a good idea to remove the lid annually and check for ants or other small vermin inside. Ants and any droppings should be cleaned out, holes where they could get in sealed up with silicon sealer and repellent placed in or around the Operator. The gate should be checked when opening and closing for any loose mounting brackets. If brackets are loose then they will need to be re-attached with better fixings. Also check the manual release is working, if not the motor will need to be taken apart and the manual release mechanism cleaned and lubricated.
The battery needs regular checking. Using a multi-meter check the voltage on the battery as the gate is being opened and closed. The voltage should hold above 12.5V on the battery if the battery is in good condition. If the battery drops below 12V during any stage of the gate movement then it needs replacing.

How this operator kit compares to others?
The Dura-Slide articulated arm operator isn't as pretty as the King Modus but is good value for money and runs faster. It also has the option of a pedestal mount that is separate from the gate post altogether ideal for brick pillars or other gate posts of unknown strength. Although the control unit doesn't have the intuitive LCD setup that the linear Centsys operators have, if the manual is followed carefully it's still quite straight forward to program, although doesn't have quite as many features.
Dace operators differ from King and other Italian brands in that they run off a battery rather than off a transformer so the low voltage option requires a trickle charge only from the house or where ever it is plugged in so the cable can be light duty and battery backup is standard. The downside is the battery needs to be replaced every 3 to 5 years but is something you can do yourself.
