Choosing Single or Double Swinging Driveway Gates
Double swing (hinged) gates are the traditional driveway gate, are simple to install and require very little side room to open. Although they do take up driveway space, can be effected by the wind, aren't so good for wider driveways and can become difficult on driveways that slope up from the road. Single Swing gates are more budget friendly and can allow full access off to one side of the driveway, although they take up more driveway space, are effected a lot more by the wind, can be more of a problem if the driveway slopes up from the road. If wider than 2m a swing gate really need to have an electric lock if they're automatic.
