Installation Instructions

Japanese Quality Audio only Intercom with a flush mount brushed stainless steel outdoor station with a call button that a visitor presses to ring an indoor handset so an occupant may lift it and talk to the visitor like they're on a phone, then press a button on the handset to release an electric lock on the pedestrian gate or open an automatic driveway gate letting the visitor in without the occupant having to go outside.

All Call Room to Room Communication 

The Indoor Handsets may also be used to call all other rooms if extra handsets are installed by lifting the handset and pressing a call button. This gives a different tone to the gate so other occupants know it is an internal call and not the gate.

Chime Volume Adjustment

The chime volume can be adjusted for the space its in or muted in case no-one wants to be disturbed.

Power Requirements 

The handset requires 12 to 16 VAC/DC power, which comes from a transformer either next to the handset or away from the handset with a low voltage power cable run to it. The outdoor station requires no power connected as its power is passed through the 2 wires between the Handset the Outdoor Station. 

The Lock Output

Includes

IE-JA Outdoor station and  IE-1GDU Master Handset. IEH-1CD Sub-Handsets, Transformer, extension chime and electric lock are chosen separately.

Wire Size verses Distance 

Wire Distance is the length of the wire measured between the Indoor and Outdoor Stations, the IER-2 external chime and Indoor Station or between the Electric Lock (up to 140mA) and Indoor Station.

0.5mm dia. to 90m - 0.65 to 150m - 0.8mm dia. to 230m - 1.0mm dia. to 360m 

Wire Distance between IE-1GDU and the last IEH-1CD must be at least half this.

If using the intercom to open an automatic driveway gate the cable size can be 0.5mm dia. up to 360m. 

The wire distance between the transformer and Handset must be a maximum of 10m with 0.65mm dia. cable.

Note: If installing cable in the ground it must be in conduit and be a cable that is rated for use in the ground.  Multi-stranded security cable or figure 8 cable is NOT suitable in the ground it must have a polythene sheath and if the diameter of the cable is less than 0.8mm it must be filled with gel to stop it corroding.
