Installation Instructions

Japanese Quality Audio only Intercom with an outdoor surface mount silver outdoor station with a button to call one or more hands free inside stations so an occupant may press a button to talk to the visitor like they're on a speaker phone or can use it like the old style press to talk - release to listen intercoms. 

Two Gate/Door Buttons 

A lock button on the indoor station may be used to directly release an electric lock on a pedestrian gate or front door through the same two wires that connect the indoor and outdoor stations. A second button on the indoor station can directly open an automatic driveway gate or garage door, although this requires and extra two wires between the indoor station and the gate/door. 

Extra Inside Stations with Room to Room Communication  

Up to 4 extra inside stations can be added with 2 gate buttons each and a call button to ring all other hands free inside stations for communication between rooms.

Chime Volume Adjustment

The chime volume can be adjusted for the space its in or muted in case no-one wants to be disturbed.

Power Requirements 

The handset requires 15VAC to 16VAC power, which comes from a transformer either next to the handset or away from the handset with a low voltage power cable run to it. The outdoor station requires no power connected as its power is passed through the 2 wires between the Indoor the Outdoor Stations along with everything else. One transformer can be used for one Master Indoor and Outdoor pair, up to four sub-stations and and electric lock up to 500mA if need be or separate transformers can be used if this is more economic to install.

The Lock Output

Includes

1 x DA-1DS Outdoor Station + 1 x DB-1MD Master Hands Free Indoor Station. Transformers, DB-1SD Hands Free Sub Indoor Stations, extension chime or electric lock are chosen separately.

Wire Size verses Distance 

Wire Distance is the length of the wire measured between the transformer (PT-1211) and the electric Lock. The wire distance between the transformer and DB-1MD Hands free inside station must be at least half this distance.  Wire distance from the first to the last inside station must be less than 100m and 0.6mm dia. or larger.

0.6mm dia. to 110m - 0.8mm dia. to 200m - 1.0mm dia. to 310m 

Note: If installing cable in the ground it must be in conduit and be a cable that is rated for use in the ground.  Multi-stranded security cable or figure 8 cable is NOT suitable in the ground it must have a polythene sheath and if the diameter of the cable is less than 0.8mm it must be filled with gel to stop it corroding.
