What Finishes can No-weld Have?

No-weld is a revolutionary new patented system that brings the Fabrication of Residential and Commercial Swing or Sliding Driveway and Pedestrian gates into the 21st Century ... READ MORE

No-weld has a choice of finishes including:

Mill Finish (raw aluminium)

So a gate can be painted to match a colour exactly if not available as a powder coat colour or leave as is to retain the natural draw lines in the aluminium from the extruding process right into the corners if it's a metallic look that is preferred. Many may say "you can't use mill finish aluminium" but this comes from the old school welding community because where aluminium is welded it needs to be ground back and sanded to get a smooth finish, which removes the natural draw lines you get from milled aluminium.

Because No-weld is cut and screwed together internally the natural draw lines of the mill finish aluminium are retained all the way to the corners giving a finish not possible with welded gates and will last out in the weather longer than any other finish.

Mill finish frames can be used with Zinc plated roll formed sheeting instead of Colorbond for a budget friendly durable gate or fence that provides privacy.

Anodised

Anodising is an electrical process that forms a protective layer on the surface of aluminium so isn't a coating as such but does change the way the aluminium looks. Anodising can give aluminium a light frosted finish (illustrated) or can make aluminium look highly polished with the natural draw lines from the extruded process still being visible. It can even have coloured dies added for a hint of bronze, platinum, grey, sliver or even black, red, orange or gold.

Because No-weld is cut and screwed together it is possible to anodise the extrusions and retain the natural draw lines all the way to the corners if desired. Anodising cannot be used with a welded gate.

Powder Coating

Ok welded gates can be powder coated too and generally are, although getting the corners nice and clean where a gate is welded is quite time consuming and generally the welds inside a corner are left visible. Also when fitting slats or tubing there are always welds or rivets visible from the back.

With No-weld the corners of the gate frames are always dead clean with no welds, grinding marks etc... and where slats or tubing is inserted to the frame it is always clean too and combined with a lightly textured powder coated finish a whole new luxurious look is possible that just cannot be achieved with a welded gate making powder coated No-weld gates is a whole new look.

Aluminium That Looks Like Wood

If you like the look of wood but don't want the maintenance then Aluminium with a durable baked on finish that looks like wood is a very good alternative to real wood. Although it cannot be welded because the finish will be burned off nor can the finish be applied to a gate once it has been welded because the application process of the finish doesn't work that way but it is possible with a No-weld gate, infill panel or aluminium slat fence.

No-weld gates with this finish look very much like they are made from real wood because of the clean mitred corners and slats that insert cleanly into a frame with no welds, screws nails or any fixings visible. Even a wood worker would be proud of a No-weld aluminium gate that looks like wood.
