Installation service Includes:  

• Installing motors on existing gates and Garage Doors to make them automatic which includes modifying existing gates or doors if necessary, installing low voltage power cabling or a Solar power systems. See Sliding Gate Motors or Swing Gate Motors pages to learn more.
• Supply and install aluminium frames for gates only with a motor if you'd prefer to fit timber palings, laser cut sheeting or something else to your gate yourself to save money. See Frame Only Gates to learn more.

Note: we only do install work for property owners directly, we do not contract to builders, landscapers nor rental management services. 

How we Quote

If its a driveway or pedestrian gate you are wanting please send us pictures of the spot where you want your gate from different angles showing the area where the gate is to open or a drawing. Please include some basic dimensions if possible of the gate (see below for what dimensions) and any slopes. A description of what type and style of gate you'd like is also helpful, please see Gate Types and Styles page to learn more. We normally get back to you with suggestions and ball park pricing within a day or two, if not we have a lot to get through so please be patient.

Sorry we don't normally come out and quote gates on site unless it is something quite unique that can't effectively be looked at with pictures and drawings.  Site visits are $150 if in Brisbane or more if out of Brisbane.

Dimensions for gates required: width of the gate opening between fence posts, desired height of the gate, amount of slope across and up the driveway from the road and amount of room for the gate to open. 

We also need to know what style of gate you would like. That is whether it is a sliding gate, swing gate etc... but also what you'd like the gate to look like that is like a traditional wrought iron gate or one with slats. You can find popular gate styles and get and instant quote online. See Gate Styles, otherwise if you browse the Internet for pictures of gates and you find one you like please include this in your email to us. We can make just about any style of gate as we custom design and build everything.

Power Requirements for Automatic Gates. If you can get 240V mains power to your gate this is great, you only need power on one side even for double swing gates although these do need a low voltage cable across the driveway for the second motor. Almost all the motors we have can be powered by Solar or Low Voltage cable that you can install yourself. See Power Options or Choosing Gate Motors.

For Gate Intercoms and Cameras we need to know the distance from the gate to the house or office if it's a gated community and what power source is at the gate. We mostly use IP Video Intercoms that use a Cat 5 network cable and can be made wireless with a WiFi Link if cabling is too difficult, these do need a router with Internet connection to work. If you don't have this we also have Analogue audio and video intercoms that require a special cable between the gate and house or wireless audio only using the mobile phone network that require only a power source and wiring to a gate motor or lock. We install Brisbane only and don't know anyone who installs elsewhere else sorry but we do supply only for DIY installers Australia Wide, no exporting outside of Australia though.

Repairs, Servicing and Upgrades.

For Brisbane only if you are having a problem with your automatic swing, sliding or telescopic gate, Electric Gate Lock, Garage door operator, Intercom or Access Controls we can come and have a look from $160 for a callout fee to diagnose the issue and recommend a suitable repair or replacement. We can also:

• Add Smart controls to existing automatic gates and Garage Doors so they can be operated with your Smartphone from anywhere.
• Add or replace a Gate or Door Intercom with a Smart Intercom so you can receive calls and operate your gate from your Smartphone from anywhere.
• Add an external antenna to improve the range of your existing automatic gate remote controls
• Add a digital keypad, key switch, exit press button, in ground vehicle detectors or safety photocells to an existing automatic gate.
• Make your gate work from garage door remote controls.

Single Sliding gates generally start from $5,000

Below pricing does not include the supply of the gate, motor or other products and applies to products sold by us only. 

Sliding Gates 

Installing a concrete or metal footing for a sliding gate is from $990.

Installing a single piece sliding gate is from $495 not inc. the gate.

Installing a Telescopic Sliding Gate is from $995 not inc. the gate..

Installing a sliding gate motor is from $495 not inc. the motor. 

Swing Gates

Installing a Post for a Swing Gate is from $250

Installing a Single Swing driveway or Pedestrian Gate is from $395.

Installing a Single Swing Gate Motor including and electric lock is from $495.  

Installing a Double Swing Gate is from $695.

Installing a Double Swing Gate Motor with no electric lock is from $795

Installing Other Products

Installing devices such as photocells, vehicle detectors, intercoms, keypads etc... depends on what they are being installed with, location and cabling required so can't really give ball park pricing for this as there are too many variables. 

Electrical Cabling Installing 

We don't do 240V mains power hook ups as we aren't registered electricians so you will need to get your own electrician out to do this if needed.

We can install low voltage power, intercom or data cabling that is normally $300 or more depending on distance, location, degree of difficulty and what else is installed at the same time. 

We can also install solar power system too for $100 to $200, depending on location and degree of difficulty, this does not include installing low voltage cable runs more than 3m and does not include the supply of the solar panels, batteries or charging controls.

We can power motors up with a lead or battery to set them up during installation.

Warranty

Our installation work on a "Supply and Installation" bases has a 12 month warranty where if anything fails because of the way we installed it we will return and correct it. If within thirty days after installation you are not satisfied with the performance of the product, within reason, we offer either replacement of a product that is more suitable with additional costs only being the difference in retail value of the product or 100% money back and removal of the product, returning your property back to as close to original condition as reasonably possible. 

The installation warranty is separate from any manufacturers warranty offered on the products installed. Most products supplied has a 24 month back to base warranty for any defect due to faulty manufacturing and failed to work as specified (see product details for warranty period offered). 

Should any fault occur within the warranty period the product should be returned to us, the manufacturer or agents of for repair or replacement at no charge under the following conditions:

1. Proof of purchase is required ie. Invoice or purchase details recorded by us. 
2. If not installed immediately after purchase, at the discretion of us, the Warranty may be extended. 
3. The product has been installed according to the supplied Installation Instructions and Serviced according to the User/Service Manual.
4. The product has not been used for any purpose other than what it was indented for, hasn't been used in a highly corrosive environment or been exposed to contaminants that it isn't rated for that could cause it to fail.
5. The product has not been tampered with or modified by any party not authorized in writing by us.
6. The product has not been damaged by any malicious act, accident, animal infestation or adverse weather conditions beyond the control of us. 
7. A reasonable amount of care with handling or using the product has been taken.

Terms and Conditions 

All equipment ordered on a 'Supply and Installation' basis requires a 50% deposit, before work can start and the balance due on completion of the installation. All equipment supplied on a 'Supply and Installation' basis for sales directly to the end user or through a third party, remains the property of 'Grant's Automation' until paid for in full. All reasonable amount of care will be taken with the end users property, while installation work is being carried out by Grant's Automation, any sub-contractors or affiliated third parties to Grant's Automation, but no liability, within reason, will be accepted for any damage to property that may have occurred during installation works or any time after works are completed.
